The 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna

The 69th Regular Session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference is being convened in Vienna from September 15 to 19, 2025. In conjunction with the General Conference, which serves as the principal decision-making body of the IAEA, a Scientific Forum titled "Atoms for Water" will be organized on September 16-17. The Forum will delve into the contributions of nuclear science and technology towards the sustainable and efficient management of global water resources. The Forum's segments will address, among other topics, the role of nuclear science and technology in enhancing the sustainability of global water management, the analysis of nuclear and radiation-based technologies in mitigating and managing the global decline in water quality, and an overview of escalating water challenges, including the application of IAEA grants to Member States for the management and protection of water resources.


Throughout the week-long event, participating countries will have the opportunity to engage in bilateral and multilateral discussions, thereby bolstering international cooperation within the nuclear sector.
