HAEA hosts expert delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan

At the invitation of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA), a delegation of nuclear experts from the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Mr. Sardorbek Yakubekov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of Uzbekistan, visited Hungary from 24 to 25 November 2025.


During the professional day at the HAEA the delegation had the opportunity to gain insight into the Authority’s activities and tasks related to licensing of the new nuclear power plant units, oversight of operating units, and safeguards system. The delegation also visited the Centre for Emergency Response, Training and Analysis (CERTA) which is being operated in the HAEA premises.

The delegation was also received by Andrea Beatrix Kádár, President of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority. At the meeting, the Uzbek delegation expressed their gratitude for the visit and expressed their interest in deepening professional cooperation.

Within the framework of the study visit, members of the delegation also visited the Information and Visitors Centre of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, as well as sections of power plant’s operational area open to visitors on 25 November.
