Recent Developments in Nuclear Safety in Hungary, June 2026

The newsletter presents the 2026 annual safety performance assessment of of nuclear facilities, the changes in legislation related to the use of nuclear energy, particularly related to small modular reactors. The document provides information on the safety culture development programme and the preparation for the Paks Nuclear Power Plant further lifetime extension of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority, and the regulatory activities related to the first concrete pouring of Paks II. project.
